- S1000R gets new colour option
- S1000RR gets lighter and better battery
- S1000XR gets black paint finish with lettering and black handlebar
BMW Motorrad’s famous S1000 line-up has received updates for the 2019 model year. The S1000R, S1000RR and the S1000XR get a host of changes.
The company’s litre class streetfighter, the S1000R, gets a new black storm metallic paint scheme along with HP Motorsport paint finish with ‘HP’ decals and rim lining. The S1000R will no longer be sold in grey, lightwhite, blue metallic and racing red variants. Its supersport sibling, the S1000RR gets HP battery with long-lasting lithium-ion cells as an optional item. This has led to a weight reduction of around 2kgs as compared to conventional battery.
The S1000XR which is a touring model from BMW has also received aesthetic update. It gets a new style triple black paint finish with lettering and black handlebar. Unfortunately, the ocean blue metallic matt colour scheme won’t be on sale anymore.
BMW Motorrad India will bring these 2019 models to India in the next few months. We are expecting a marginal hike over the current models during its official India launch.
