One of the best adventure motorcycles in the world – the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure – is now on sale in India. Bookings for this motorcycle have already opened in three showrooms and the deliveries are expected to begin soon. While a lot of our viewers have researched this bike on BikeWale, there still seems to be a slight confusion about the versions this bike comes in. To make everyone’s life a little easier, we’ve got for you, the break-down of the R 1200 GS Adventure trim levels.
The R 1200 GS Adventure is available in three versions – standard which is priced at Rs 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), dynamic+ at Rs 20.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)) and the top of the line – Pro – which costs Rs 21.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The power figures of all the three variants remains the same. What differs are the features these models are loaded with. The Standard, like the name suggest, gets the standard features like two riding modes – rain and road and the base version of the Automatic Traction Control (ATC). The dynamic version gets the additional ABS Pro, Hill Start Control (HSC) and the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). This version also gets Gearshift Assistant Pro, LED headlights, turn indicators and auxiliary lights, cruise control, on-board computer and placement for aluminium panniers. The top spec Pro, which is priced at least Rs 3.90 lakh higher than the standard version, is equipped with heated grips, tyre pressure control and chrome exhaust pipe as well.
It looks like the German manufacturer has smartly made the mid variant – dynamic+ – look the most appealing. While the heated grips isn’t really a practical feature for the Indian conditions, having tyre pressure control does makes sense for multi-day trips. So if you’re in the market for a fully-loaded adventure bike, do check out the R 1200 GS Adventure, especially the pro variant.
