In the world of sports touring, the BMW K 1600 GTL sits on the top of the hierarchy. But there’s something more affordable and not as big as the K 1600 GTL – it’s the R 1200 RS. BMW likes to call it a very dynamic sports tourer which is coupled with a lot of technologies. Just like most of the other bikes, BMW Motorrad is also offering the R 1200 RS in two versions – standard and dynamic+.
The standard version of the R 1200 RS retails at Rs 15.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), whereas the dynamic+ gets a price tag of Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The extra one lakh is because of the dynamic package the dynamic+ version comes with. It gets the daytime running lights(DRL), Riding Modes Pro, white LED indicators, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and BMW’s dynamic brake light.
While the standard variant misses out on these features, both the versions do have a lot of features in common. They get the slipper clutch, adjustable windshield, on-board computer, adjustable handbrake and clutch levers, power socket, engine immobiliser. There’s also the Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and steering stabiliser.
