BMW Motorrad has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant R 1250 GS. The company has launched two variants of its flagship adventure tourer motorcycle in India with prices ranging between Rs 20.45 lakh and 22.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both variants of the motorcycle are available in four colours each.
The Style Triple Black, Style Rallye, and 40 years of GS-Limited Edition are common on both variants. The base paint on the R 1250 GS includes Light White non-metallic while the Adventure variants uses Style Ice Grey colour. The Light White non-metallic and Style Triple Black colour variants of the R 1250 GS use alloy wheels while the Style Rallye and 40 years of GS-Limited Edition feature wire-spoke wheels.
The R 1250 GS series will soon face competition from the Ducati Multistrada V4 that is scheduled to enter the Indian market in July 2021. The mechanical specifications on the German adventure-tourer include a BS6-compliant, 1,254cc, air/liquid-cooled, flat-twin engine that produces 134bhp at 7,750rpm and 143Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm.
