BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the BS6-compliant R 1250 GS series in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the flagship adventure tourer series is available in two variants with prices starting from Rs 20,45,000. Check out the variant-wise prices below:
- R 1250 GS Pro: Rs 20,45,000
- R 1250 GS Adventure Pro: Rs 22,40,000
The motorcycles will be imported in India via the Completely Built-up Units (CBU) route. The mechanical specifications on the BS6-compliant model include a 1,254cc, air/liquid-cooled, flat-twin motor that produces 134bhp of maximum power at 7,750rpm and 143Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The styling cues on the R 1250 GS BS6 series include an asymmetric headlight, a beak-style front, and an adjustable windscreen. Both variants pack features like full-LED lighting, adaptive headlight, Bluetooth-enabled TFT colour display, traction control system, ABS Pro, three ride modes (Eco, Road, and Rain), hill start control, and a USB charging socket as standard. The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure are available in a basic colour scheme, style triple black variant, and style Rallye variant. The company will also offer the limited-edition special '40 Years GS' edition in the Indian market.
The new BMW R 1250 GS series will rival the Ducati Multistrada V4 and the Kawasaki Versys 1000 in the Indian market. The Kawasaki Versys 1000 is already available in India while the Ducati Multistrada V4 is scheduled to arrive this month.
