- BMW R 1250 GS BS6 pre-bookings open
- To be available in two variants (R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure)
- Launch details unavailable yet
BMW Motorrad dealerships have commenced the pre-bookings for the BS6-compliant R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure ahead of their India launch. The company has not revealed the launch date yet, although we could see the updated models on our shores by the end of June or early July 2021.
The Euro5-compliant (equivalent to BS6 emission norms) model is already available in several international markets. The Euro5-compliant 1,254cc, air/liquid-cooled, flat-twin engine produces 134bhp of power at 7,750rpm and 142Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. The India-bound model will feature similar power and torque output numbers.
The styling cues retain the asymmetric headlight design, a beak-style front, a semi-fairing, and an adjustable windscreen. The standard model will use an alloy wheel setup while the Adventure variant will come equipped with tubeless-tyre compatible spoke wheels. The standard feature list on the R 1250 GS includes full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled TFT colour display, traction control system, ABS Pro, three ride modes (Eco, Road, and Rain), hill start control, and a USB charging socket.
The motorcycle will compete against the new Ducati Multistrada V4 that is expected to reach the Indian market soon. The launch details for the Multistrada V4 are not available yet, although several Ducati India dealers have commenced the unofficial pre-bookings for the adventure tourer.
