-Officially teased
-Will have a bigger fuel tank than the R 1300 GS
-India launch expected soon
BMW Motorrad has teased the new R 1300 GS Adventure on its social media platforms and announced that it will reveal the bike on 5 July. The R 1300 GS Adventure will feature a much larger fuel tank than the R 1300 GS, perhaps around 30-litres.
This will allow the bike to cover a lot more distance between fill ups and that means more time spent on the road, chewing miles and maintaining a good average speed. And, anyone who’s been on long road trips would agree that average speed matters when one wants to cover greater distances in short periods of time.
The R 1300 GS Adventure's larger fuel tank will contribute to the visual bulk of the bike. The rest of the elements, such as the LED headlight, the beak and the side as well as the tail panels should be the same as on the regular ‘GS.’ We could expect BMW to offer auxiliary lights, crash protection and a set of new colours to help distinguish the ‘Adventure’ from the standard bike.
The bike will be powered by a 1,300cc, twin-cylinder engine that makes 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The electronics suite should be comprehensive as well and could include radar assisted cruise control.
The BMW Telelever and Paralever Evo suspension, wheels, tyres and brakes are also likely going to be the same as the R 1300 GS.
While the official global unveil is on 5 July, we could see the bike being launched in India around August-September.
