BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off the more hardcore, Adventure variant of the new R 1300 GS. While we wait for the motorcycle to arrive on the Indian shores, let’s take a look at some of its pictures along with the list of changes that it gets over the standard trim.
As was the case with its predecessor, the new Adventure trim of the R 1300 GS looks bulkier and more muscular mainly due to the inclusion of a bigger fuel tank.
While the base trim of the GS already gets a sizeable 18.9-litre fuel tank, the Adventure variant takes things a few notches higher with a much bigger 30-litre unit.
Powering the bike is the same 1,300cc, boxer-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 143bhp and 149Nm of peak torque along with a six-speed gearbox.
However, the GSA comes with an optional Automated Shift Assistant system which takes charge of the entire gear-shifting exercise in Drive mode while allowing the rider to conventionally shift in Manual mode.
Cross-spoke wheels are standard fitment on the GSA. Those hitting the trails more often can also go for the optional enduro forged wheels that are not only stronger but also 2kg lighter.
The standard R 1300 GS is already launched in India with prices starting from Rs. 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the starting price of the Adventure trim might be Rs. 4-5 lakh higher.
