- Likely to get the same engine and output figures as the standard model
- BMW R 1300 GSA recently homologated
- Could have a difference in terms of weight, height and other dimensions
While BMW is working on the launch of the R 1300 GS in India, it seems that the brand is also preparing for the homologation of the Adventure version. The BMW flagship could be offered in a thorough off-road trim, just like the 1250, and its homologation documents have leaked a few details recently.
We learnt that the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure will ideally get the same 1,300cc, twin-cylinder engine that makes 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. Even the output figures will remain unchanged for the Adventure trim. However, it could weigh about 21kg more. This could be a result of a larger capacity fuel tank. For reference, the 1250 GSA gets a 10-litre larger fuel tank than its standard trim. So, the R 1300 GSA could get about a 29-30 litre fuel tank, whereas the base trim uses a 19-litre unit.
Other changes like a new rear subframe for better load carrying at the back, more suspension travel, and increased overall height can also be expected. Even the wheel setup for the R 1300 GSA could include a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, just like the R 1300 GS. Not to mention, these will be spoke wheels with off-road-ready tyres.
BMW is yet to announce the asking price for the R 1300 GS in India. However, once the R 1300 GSA is announced, it will have a notably higher asking price. The current R 1250 GS costs Rs. 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and its Adventure model costs Rs. 2 lakh more.
