-Officially teased by BMW India
-Likely to be offered with the automated shift assistant feature
-Has a 30-litre aluminium fuel tank
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is going to be launched in India soon. BMW Motorrad India has made the official announcement with regards to the same on its social media platforms. The ‘Adventure’ in the name denotes that this motorcycle is the more globetrotting-ready sibling of the BMW R 1300 GS.
The R 1300 GS Adventure has a more boxy and functional design. It has more squared off edges, be it at the beak under the headlight, the fuel tank or the tail section. What grabs attention is the 30-litre fuel tank giving the bike an imposing presence, especially when viewed from the front.
Powering the R 1300 GS Adventure is a 1,300cc, Boxer twin makes 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. There are four ride modes- Eco, Rain, Road and Enduro to temper the power delivery and adjust the traction control intervention levels.
In addition to the above mentioned electronics, the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure gets Dynamic Traction Control, radar based adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision warning. The talking point, however, is the new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) that the bike gets. It consists of two electromechanical actuators to automate clutch control and shifting gears. This takes away the effort of changing gears constantly and thereby reducing rider fatigue.
The bike is expected to cost between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 26 lakh, ex-showroom.
