- Powered by a 1,300cc, liquid-cooled, boxer engine
- The variants differ in terms of colours, features and equipment
BMW Motorrad has launched the R 1300 GS, its latest flagship adventure motorcycle in India. The asking price starts from Rs. 20,95,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
As mentioned earlier, the R 1300 GS models vary in terms of colours and equipment to a certain extent. You can purchase this bike Light White, GS Trophy, Option GS Tramantuna, and Triple Black. However, the overall design, engine and majority of the setup remains the same.
Powering the R 1300 GS is a brand new 1,300cc, liquid-cooled, boxer engine. It makes 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox that uses a shaft drive system.
Naturally, such a big-size Adventure bike needs a decent pack of electronics. So, the R 1300 GS comes with TFT screen to toggle through various rider aids as well as use the smartphone connectivity feature. Speaking of the rider aids, there is the ABS, traction control, four riding modes – Eco, Rain, Road, Enduro – hill start control, brake control, cruise control, and tyre pressure control. Other features including the keyless ride, heated grips, and charging slot, are also offered.
At Rs. 20.95 lakh, the BMW R 1300 GS costs just Rs. 40,000 more than the R 1250 GS. It rivals the Honda Africa Twin and the Ducati Multistrada V4. The bookings for the R 1300 GS are open and deliveries will commence later this month.
