BMW Motorrad India has updated its product portfolio with the launch of R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler. The R nineT has been priced at Rs 18,50,000 while the R nineT Scrambler is available at Rs 16,75,000. The bookings for the motorcycles have commenced across BMW Motorrad dealerships in the country. The Indian arm of the Bavarian two-wheeler brand will import the motorcycles as completely built-up units (CBU).
The new BMW R nineT is a classic roadster while the R nineT Scrambler, as the name suggests, is a Scrambler-style motorcycle. The classic design is complemented by an LED headlight with LED DRL and a newly designed circular instrument.
Mechanical specifications are identical on both models, and the 2021 BMW R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler use a 1,170cc, air and oil-cooled, two-cylinder engine with DOHC cylinder head, four valves and two camshafts and shaft drive. The motor is tuned to produce 107.2bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 116Nm at 6,000rpm. BMW Motorrad claims a 0-100kmph acceleration in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 kmph.
Both motorcycles feature two riding modes – ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ – as standard. The safety net includes Automatic Stability Control (ASC), ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and a new suspension strut with travel-dependent damping (WAD).
Similar to rest of the BMW Motorrad bikes, the new R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler come with a standard warranty for three years/unlimited kilometres. Further, buyers can opt for an extended warranty for the fourth and the fifth year at an additional cost. The company will also offer a range of accessories and lifestyle merchandise for the new BMW R nineT and BMW R nineT Scrambler through its dealerships.
