- R18 bagger launching soon
- Based on R18 cruiser
- Will come to India
BMW Motorrad is planning to launch the bagger version of the mighty R18 soon. The company released a teaser comment about this upcoming bike a few days ago.
The patent pictures of the BMW R18 bagger were leaked a few weeks ago. Plus, the prototype was also soon being tested on public roads. So we have a fair idea how the bike is going to look like. Majority of the design work resembles the R18. But there are few additions like the large fairing at the front along with a windscreen which we think can be electronically adjusted. Then there’s also the integrated hard luggage at the rear.
In terms of performance, the R18 bagger will get its power from the 1802cc air-cooled boxer-twin engine that produces around 91bhp of peak power and lots of torque. The six-speed gearbox will be mated to this engine and will transfer power to the rear wheel via a shaft drive. And just like other BMWs in the line-up, this one too will be loaded with latest equipment.
We can expect the German brand to unveil this bike in the next few months and it will definitely make its India debut later this year, but at a price tag, that is going to make it look extremely expensive.
