BMW Motorrad recently unveiled the R18 Dragster. The motorcycle was designed by Roland Sands, who took the muscle car design approach while styling the vehicle. We have already brought you all the details about the R18 Dragster. Here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the motorcycle.
The R18 has been completely overhauled. The frame has been modified entirely and the rear suspension has been removed for drag racing.
The Dragster uses the headlight from the original R 18. The setup is highlighted with the headlight bezel from the design collection of milled aluminium parts.
Similar to the headlight, the fuel tank, too, has been taken from the original R 18.
The custom front and rear fenders keep the classic R 18 silhouette on the Dragster.
The dual-tone paint includes metallic blue with classic white BMW pin-stripes. The BMW pin-stripes are done by Roland’s long-time painter Chris Wood.
The stock exhaust has been replaced with a hand fabricated Stainless-Steel twin megaphone system. The exhaust tips are made from the milled aluminium parts.
The hydraulic front brake and clutch master cylinders are from Roland Sands Design while the saddle is an RSD custom seat by Saddlemen.
The Dragster borrows the forks from the BMW R nineT and the front braking system from the BMW S 1000 RR superbike.
