BMW Motorrad recently added its new cruiser motorcycle, the R18 to the Indian market. The standard variant of the motorcycle has been priced at Rs 18.90 lakh while the First Edition is available for Rs 21.90 lakh. Both variants use an 1802cc motor that produces 91bhp of power and 157Nm of torque. Here we list the alternatives that you can consider in the similar price range.
Harley-Davidson Fatboy (Rs 18.25 lakh)
Harley-Davidson’s Fatboy cruiser is available at a relatively lower price tag than the BMW R18. The American cruiser, which is available from Rs 18.25 lakh, is powered by a 1,746cc V-twin motor that produces 145Nm of peak torque. Styling cues include chrome highlights, a LED headlight, a fuel-tank mounted instrument cluster, split-style seats and a twin-pod exhaust setup.
Triumph Rocket 3 GT (Rs 18.40 lakh)
Triumph’s recently launched Rocket 3 GT features a massive 2,458cc, inline three-cylinder engine that produces 165bhp of power and a massive 221Nm of peak torque. The touring-focussed motorcycle from the British brand boasts a taller windscreen, adjustable pillion footrests, 750mm seat height, heated grips, a USB charger, and a pillion backrest as standard. For Rs 40,000 less, buyers can get the R variant of the Rocket 3 family. Unlike the GT, the Rocket 3 R misses touring focussed accessories.
People interested in sports tourers can check out BMW’s litre-class motorcycle, the S 1000 XR. The sports tourer from the Bavarian brand retails at Rs 20.90 lakh and it competes against the likes of Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Kawasaki Versys 1000. The S 1000 XR is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 162bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm.
