- 4.4 lakh R1200GS and R1250GS recalled
- Drive-related issues
- Will be fixed free of charge
BMW Motorrad has issued one of its biggest recalls. The company has recalled around 4.4 lakh motorcycles over drive-related issues.
This recall affects the R1200GS and the R1250GS manufactured between 2013 and 2021. So, it is clear that it is a worldwide recall. According to the company, the damage could be caused to the cardan shaft over a period of time. And this damage could result in loss of power.
The German brand will fix this issue by drilling a small hole in the rear of the bike, near the cross joint. They will then insert a valve into the hole that will push the air and moisture out of the cardan tunnel.
This activity will be done free of charge at the nearest BMW service centres. However, the brand has confirmed that this issue can be rectified during regular servicing, and there’s no need for urgent appointments. ts.
