- Issue with braking components
- Affects five models and 9,392 motorcycles in total
BMW Motorrad has issued a recall for 9,392 motorcycles in the USA that will begin from 6 October. It addresses an issue related to the braking components. The recall affects five models manufactured between 2019-2020. There is the R1250GS, R1250GS Adventure, R1250RT, S1000RR, and the S1000XR.
According to the recall, the front brake caliper might leak brake fluid when parked. While the leak is gradual and will not cause the brakes to fail immediately, it could lead to a reduction in braking performance.
To rectify the issue, BMW Motorrad will inspect and replace the front brake caliper with an improved version free of charge. BMW hasn’t released an official statement about the recall in India however we recommend owners visit the nearest dealership to have their motorcycle checked out for the issue.
