BMW Motorrad has revealed their new motorcycle – the K1600B. This bike was inspired from the Concept 101, which BMW unveiled last year.
Based on the K1600 platform, this bagger takes BMW’s overall touring motorcycle count to six. Developed specifically for the American market, the 2016 K1600B has been designed to look big but at the same time have edgy and sharp lines. The German bike maker has redesigned the sub-frame so that it can take the load of the new saddlebags which has integrated tail lights. The rear section has been redesigned to make it look sharp.
Powering this motorcycle is BMW’s 1632cc in-line six-cylinder engine that makes 160bhp and peak torque of 175Nm at 5750 rpm. This is the same engine that powers the entire K160 line-up. BMW has introduced an electronic reverse feature as an option on the K1600B To make the rider's life easy in tight parking spots.
BMW has loaded this motorcycle with lot of features. Adjustable windscreen, riding modes (dynamic, rain, road) and dynamic traction control. The K1600B also gets the dynamic electronic suspension with two modes – road and cruise. In the road mode, damping adaptation is fully automated and adjusts to all speeds and road surfaces, while the cruise mode is optimised for comfort at low speeds. Other features include heated grips, cruise control, ABS Pro and option selector on the left grip.
