BMW Motorrad has commenced the deliveries of the BS6-compliant S1000R in the Indian market. The first unit of the litre-class naked roadster, which uses the Hockenheim Silver Metallic colour, was delivered to its owner, Thupten Yamphel. Apart from Hockenheim Silver Metallic colour, the S1000R is also available in Racing Red and Light White/M Motorsport (only with Pro M Sport) paint options.
The latest iteration of the BMW S1000R is available in three variants in the Indian market – Standard (Rs 17.90 lakh), Pro (Rs 19.75 lakh), and Pro M Sport (Rs 22.50 lakh). All three variants use the same, BS6-compliant, 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine that makes 165bhp of maximum power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm. The company claims a fuel economy of 6.2-litre/100km or 16.12kmpl.
In terms of styling, the new S1000R gets a complete makeover, and the latest iteration of the motorcycle features an updated front fascia, a sharper design for the fuel tank side panels, tank centre cover, side panels in R shape, radiator shrouds, and the belly pan.
