BMW Motorrad unveiled their most affordable adventure bike – the G310 GS - at EICMA 2016. This made- in- India adventure bike is bound to come to India but the launch date was never confirmed by the German manufacturer until now.
BMW will launch the G310 GS in India at the end of 2017. This news was confirmed on the company’s official twitter channel. BMW was replying to a twitter user’s question and that’s when it mentioned the timing of the official launch. The Indian arm of the German manufacturer hasn’t launched the naked bike, the G310 R, yet. But as per reports, the G310 R launch is expected early next year.

The company will first set up a couple of showrooms in metros before it brings in its bikes from the new platform. The company is expected to launch all their completely-built-up (CBU) units at the same time that the G310 R launches.
The launch late next year should help boost sales for BMW during the festive season, which is always a good time to have a new launch. Although the adventure segment in India is in its nascent stage, we’re looking forward to the expansion of the Royal Enfield Himalayan’s segment with a product from the global market leader in the segment.
TVS will manufacture the G310 GS at their Hosur plant. We’re expecting a price tag of between Rs 2.4 lakh and Rs 2.6 lakh for the G310 GS.
