BMW Motorrad will unveil three adventure bikes at the EICMA show in Milan next month. Out of the three models, two are new ones, whereas the third bike is an update of an existing model.
The company recently gave a couple of international journalists a sneak-peek at the upcoming models. No pictures were allowed to be taken but it looks like the German manufacturer had no problem getting this information out on the internet. The first bike in question, in fact the most important one for BMW, is the G310GS. This is the most affordable adventure bike from BMW which will be unveiled to the world next month. Based on the G310R naked motorcycle, the G310GS will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant in India and exported to the rest of the world.
The second adventure bike is an R80 GS inspired version of the modern classic – the R nineT. Called the Urban GS, this bike will be the fifth in BMW’s Heritage family, after the R nineT, Scrambler, Pure and Racer. To be more specific, the Urban GS is the production version of the Lac Rose Concept. The final bike is the updated R1200GS. This adventure motorcycle will get a host of changes on it its 125bhp engine to comply with the Euro 4 emission norms. BMW has also made a couple of changes on the chassis too.
We’re quite excited to see these new bikes. Stay tuned as we get you more detailed coverage of the 2016 EICMA.
