BMW is going to debut two new motorcycles at the 2016 INTERMOT motorcycle show, which will be held in Cologne, Germany, next month.
The INTERMOT motorcycle show has served as a platform for BMW to unveil their big bikes, and true to this tradition we expect the German manufacturer to unveil a new variation of the R nineT. While there are two new R nineT models in the pipeline, Pure and Racer, only one of these will be unveiled at INTERMOT with the other being reserved for the EICMA Show in Milan, in November. The second new model is rumoured to be a Ducati XDiavel rival, Europe’s second offensive in the traditionally American cruiser segment. Apart from two new models, BMW will also launch a slew of 2017 model year updates for its existing line-up. Expect a few significant updates for the R1200GS and other technical updates for the S 1000 series of sportbikes.
It is no secret that the BMW G 310R is just the tip of the iceberg, with the company planning to roll out at least two more models based on this platform. It has been a year since BMW first took the wraps off the G 310R, and this year’s EICMA Show is expected to serve as the platform for the debut of the adventure version of this roadster. In India, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is the only model currently on sale in that space, and a KTM 390 Adventure is scheduled to join it at some point in the next two years. Though it might take one more year for it to hit the production lines, the adventure G 310R seems like a bike well worth waiting for.
