- BMW G 310 R receives a price hike
- Rs 5,000 more expensive now
- Mechanically remains unchanged
BMW Motorrad has increased the prices of its entry-level offering, the G 310 R, in India. With a new price tag of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle is now Rs 5,000 more expensive than before. Despite the price hike, the G 310 R continues to be substantially cheaper than its arch-rival, the KTM 390 Duke which costs Rs 2.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
During the BS6 transition, the BMW G 310 R received a bunch of updates which increased its desirability quotient. Interestingly, the motorcycle had also become considerably cheaper than its BS4 counterpart, instead of receiving a price hike. The updates were executed in its styling, features, and in its hardware.
Powering the G 310 R is a 313, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 33.53bhp of power and 28Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with inverted forks and a monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm rotor at the rear. The motorcycle tips the scales at 164kg.
BMW offers the G 310 R in three colour options – Style Sport, Style Passion, and Cosmic Black. While the former two get vibrant red-coloured alloy wheels and frame, the latter gets an all-black theme. It gets a full-LED lighting system and an LCD console that has majorly remained unchanged ever since the bike’s inception.
