BMW's new S1000RR inspired sporty adventure bike, dubbed the S1000 adventure, has been spied for the very first time. This confirms that BMW Motorrad has been working on an all-new sports-tourer based on the S1000 platform.
The new adventure motorcycle stands tall on 17-inch alloy wheels unlike the F650 which gets 19-inch wheels. This means instead of making an all out adventure bike like the R1200GS, the manufacturer will put forth this bike as an on-road bike. From the picture, it seems that the company has not carried over the asymmetric headlamp design from the S1000RR.
This sports-tourer is expected to come equipped with most of the features like multilevel traction control, dynamic damping control, a ride-by-wire throttle with different fuel maps, ABS, traction control, adjustable suspension on the go and multiple ride modes.
The BMW S1000F is expected to be powered by the mill from the S1000RR that churns out 160bhp of power. However, the manufacturer might retune the engine to produce more torque throughout its complete rev range.
We had reported earlier about the developments, when a sketch signed by well-known designer Stefan Kraft was released. The motorcycle looks production-ready and the German manufacturer might launch the motorcycle within a couple of months. Even if BMW considers introducing the bike in India, we don’t think it will reach our country this year. And if it does, it might come via the CBU route having a hefty price tag.
