- TVS Apache RR310 is the most affordable bike among the three
TVS Motor Company, in partnership with BMW Motorrad, rolled out 50,000 units of its trio of 310cc motorcycles from its manufacturing facility in Hosur. The figure represents combined production units of the TVS Apache RR310, BMW G310R and G310GS.
The milestone was achieved in the presence of Markus Schramm, who is the head of BMW Motorrad and KN Radhakrishnan, director and CEO of TVS. BMW and TVS joined hands in 2013 with the aim of producing sub-500cc motorcycles. The partnership churned out three models carrying the same 310cc powerplant but catering to different requirements. The TVS Apache RR310 is a fully-faired bike with aggressive riding stance while the BWM G310R is a naked roadster. The BMW G310GS, on the other hand, is a versatile adventure tourer.
All three bikes are powered by the same 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 33bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by upside-down forks on the front and monoshock at the rear. For braking, the bikes come equipped with a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc.
The BMW G310R and the G310GS are priced at Rs 2.99 lakhs and Rs 3.49 lakhs, respectively. Meanwhile, the TVS Apache RR310 is more on the affordable side at Rs 2.13 lakhs (all prices are ex-showroom). However, BMW is offering discounts of up to Rs 40,000 on its entry-level bikes and you can read about it here.
