Suzuki dealers across the country have started accepting bookings for the 2017 Gixxer SF ABS version. This faired bike is expected to be launched in India officially in the next few days.
The Japanese manufacturer will offer ABS in both carbureted and fuel-injected models. However, it is a single-channel ABS unit like the ones on the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. With this, the Suzuki Gixxer SF is the first motorcycle in this segment to get the anti-lock braking system (ABS).
Other than this safety feature, the Gixxer SF will also get a new three-tone paint scheme. There’s a new SP logo on the side of the fairing, new graphics on the front cowl and also on the fuel tank. The bike remains unchanged otherwise. The Gixxer SF continues to be powered by the 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor that produces 14.8bhp and 14Nm of peak torque. The overall weight will see a marginal increase due to the addition of ABS unit.
We’re expecting Suzuki to add Rs 6000 to Rs 8000 more for this ABS version over the non-ABS variant. The Gixxer and the Gixxer SF have been all-round products, thanks to its performance, handling and the styling aspects. Now with the introduction of ABS, the Gixxer SF is more desirable. Unfortunately, there is no news of ABS for its naked sibling.
