Bookings for the entry-level Tornado 302 have commenced unofficially at Benelli dealers across India with booking amounts beginning from ₹10,000 and going up to ₹50,000 across different cities.
The Tornado 302 is the faired version of the TNT 300 and uses a steel trestle frame which houses a 300cc inline-2 cylinder, liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine mated to a 6-speed transmission which churns out 35bhp at 12000rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 9000rpm.
The bike features 41mm inverted forks at the front fork, while the rear swing-arm gets an adjustable rear shock absorber offering preload and rebound adjustment. The 260mm petal discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear provide for its stopping power. The Benelli will be equipped with ABS as standard and has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.
Although the Tornado 302 has a rear that is similar to the TNT 300, the faired front end with the split headlamps is all new. The bikes comes with a sporty exhaust and with all Benelli motorcycles, we can expect a brawny exhaust note.
After its launch in mid-June, the Benelli Tornado 302 will take on the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 250R, Yamaha R3 and the upcoming TVS Akula 310.
