- Straightens the bike just when it’s about to fall
- Uses gas thrusters just like in spaceship
- Still in testing phase
Bosch has developed a new technology, which once makes it to production motorcycles, will bring down the number of crashes. This anti-slide technology straightens the bike just when it’s about to fall.
When a motorcycle begins to slide and fall, Bosch’s system will use pressurised gas thrusters to bring the bike straight =up. The idea is that this counteracts the sliding wheel, enabling a rider to re-stabilise the bike so they don’t have a low-side. The same tech is used in spaceship where the gas thrusters is used to push the ship in the opposite direction. In case of this motorcycle tech, the sliding wheel has been designed to counteract.
While the technology can revolutionise the industry, it doesn’t come cheap. Once used, the rider needs to shell out money again to fit this safety system, just like we do in case of car airbags. This could become a costly affair. However, it’s still not clear when this technology will make it to the production line.
