- Gets a completely revamped styling
- Powered by a larger 399cc single-cylinder motor
- Equipped with new hardware too
The 2024 KTM 390 Duke has officially broken cover in the global market. This is the third generation of the Duke since its debut which happened almost a decade ago. Let’s see what has changed in the new model.
Firstly, KTM has made extensive tweaks to the 390 Duke’s design. Its LED headlight now looks wider than before and the boomerang-shaped DRLs seem to be much more aggressive. The fuel tank shrouds too seem larger and protrude even further and the tank design has also been altered, thereby making the 2024 model look even more muscular than the current generation. It comes with a new split seat setup wherein the rear subframe remains exposed. Overall, the 2024 KTM 390 Duke looks bigger than the 2023 model.
KTM has also upped the engine capacity and the new Duke gets a larger 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. It makes 44.25bhp and 39Nm and gets a six-speed gearbox. The setup benefits from a slipper clutch and quickshifter. That said, KTM has now added even more rider aids to the 390 Duke. It comes with launch control, ride modes (street, rain and track), and a five-inch TFT to monitor all the parameters. Other features like smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and music control are also available.
Then, the 2024 KTM 390 Duke gets new hardware. It comes with a new powder-coated steel trellis frame that is suspended on 43mm USD front forks with rebound and compression adjustability while the monoshock gets preload and rebound adjustment. The braking hardware includes a new 320mm front disc with a 240mm rear disc and dual-channel, cornering, and Supermoto ABS. The brakes are mounted on a pair of 17-inch alloys wrapped in Michelin tyres. However, the tyre and suspension specifications could be subject to change in the Indian market.
As of now, the 2024 KTM 390 Duke has only been unveiled on the international website and KTM India is yet to make an official announcement. We expect it to happen soon and the 2024 model could come with a higher asking price too.
