- Kawasaki Z650 RS spotted
- Gets retro-styling
- To take on Royal Enfield Interceptor 650
Kawasaki recently unveiled the retro-styled Z650 RS for international markets. And now, less than two months later, the motorcycle has been spotted testing in India.
While the test mule was camouflaged, the multi-spoke alloy wheels and under-belly exhaust gave it away. Moreover, the Z650 RS also gets a chrome headlamp bezel on its round headlamp, a curvy fuel tank, round mirrors, and a single-piece seat. That said, it gets chrome finished twin-pod analogue cluster to complete its retro recipe, but also comes with an LCD dash and full-LED lighting all around.
Now, these two features are more than what its biggest rival- the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has to offer. However, other bits like the dual-channel ABS and slipper clutch are offered on both bikes. While the Kawasaki Z650 RS borrows its styling from the Z900 RS, its engine is borrowed from the Z650. This 649cc, parallel-twin engine churns out 67.3bhp and 64Nm. Even the suspension and braking hardware are similar to its other 650cc siblings.
Kawasaki offers the Z650RS in three colour options- Metallic Spark Black, Candy Emerald Green, and Metallic Moondust Grey/Ebony. And we can expect these to be offered in India as well. With the motorcycle being spotted testing this early after its global unveil, it is also likely to be launched here soon. We can expect it to be priced at around Rs 6 lakh, in the vicinity of the Z650’s Rs 6.24 lakh price tag.
