Suzuki has finally launched the V-Strom 800DE in India after showcasing it at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. The motorcycle is priced in India at Rs. 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs. 70,000 cheaper than the Honda Transalp 750 and close to Rs. 2 lakh cheaper than the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport.
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is powered by a 776cc, parallel-twin, DOHC motor that is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor gets a 270-degree crankshaft that delivers an output of 84bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm at 6,800rpm.
The V-Strom 800DE is available in three colours - Champion Yellow No. 2, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, and Glass Sparkle Black. The motorcycle packs a five-inch colour TFT display, USB charging port, LED lighting all around, and more. Safety features comprise the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Suzuki Traction Control System with Gravel mode, Ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, ABS modes, low RPM assist, and the Suzuki Easy Start System.
The V-Strom 800DE rides on 21/17-inch wheels with block-pattern tyres, and gets a 20-litre fuel tank capacity, which is large enough to go touring on. Suspension duties are carried out by Showa USD front forks and a rear monoshock, while the suspension travel and ground clearance stands at 220mm each.
In terms of competition, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will rival the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, BMW F850GS, and the Honda Transalp 750.
