- Triumphs 400cc roadster, scrambler launch on 27 June
- Bajaj will manufacture these bikes in India
- India launch by September
Two of the most anticipated motorcycle of 2023 will be launched on 27 June. Triumph will finally unveil their most affordable motorcycles – a 400cc roadster and a 400cc scrambler at the end of June.
Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, confirmed this significant development. This is the first time the top honcho has talked about the launch timeline of these much-awaited motorcycles. While the global launch has been planned for the above date, the India launch will likely happen by September.
Bajaj recently took over Triumph’s India operations, including showrooms and back-end work. These new bikes will share the showroom space with those like the Tiger and Bonneville. The Pune-based manufacturer has been trying hard to enter the Royal Enfield territory. However, the Dominar brand failed to achieve that. With Triumph, Bajaj expects to finally take away some significant chunk of Royal Enfield’s market share.
The 400cc roadster and 400cc scrambler will be launched for now, but we expect more variants to come out of Bajaj’s Chakan factory in the coming years. We can expect attractive introductory pricing at around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the roadster variant. The scrambler is bound to be priced higher due to the nature of the segment.
