The first of the products from the TVS-BMW joint venture will launch in exactly a fortnight, on 6 December. Its official name is TVS Apache RR 310.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is based on the BMW G 310 R streetbike, and mechanically seems to be similar to the latter. It gets the same 'rotated head' engine, with the exhaust valve at the rear of the engine. The Apache RR 310 is expected to generate 33.6bhp and 28Nm from its 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It should also have a decent amount of torque spread over the rev range, just like the rest of the Apache range. It will feed the rear wheel via chain final drive, through a six-speed gearbox. While the Apache RR 310 is a fully-faired motorcycle, it will not be a wholly committed supersport machine in the vein of the KTM RC390. It will have ergonomics geared more towards sport-touring, which should make it popular with a lot of customers.
It will compete with the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and Benelli 302R when launched.
