Austrian brand Brixton Motorcycles recently entered India with four bikes with the most affordable one being the Crossfire 500 X. It has been priced at Rs. 4.74 lakh. In case you’re looking for a bike around the price but are sceptical about Brixton’s long-term existence in India, here are other options worth considering.
Yamaha YZF-R3: Rs. 4.65 lakh
The Yamaha R3 is a sportbike that is highly revered for its punchy and characterful 321cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm. It’s a versatile offering which is easy-going enough to be used for daily commuting while being adequately capable to be a track tool. Although Yamaha hasn’t equipped the bike with a lot of modern features, the motorcycle delivers a wholesome riding experience courtesy of its great hardware package.
Kawasaki Ninja 500: Rs. 5.24 lakh
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is another entry-level sportbike that is mighty capable. A successor to the Ninja 400, its 451cc, twin-cylinder engine is more powerful than the R3 with a power and torque output of 45bhp and 42.6Nm. It also looks slightly bigger and more muscular than its Yamaha rival but the feature list is also as bleak as the R3.
Benelli Leoncino 500: Rs. 5 lakh
The Benelli Leoncino 500 is the closest rival to the Brixton Crossfire considering their displacement and modern-classic body style. The Leoncino boasts some visual traits of a scrambler but its 17-inch alloy combination along with limited suspension travel make it a road-biased machine. It is powered by a sweet-sounding 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that belts out 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm.
