Bajaj has launched the BS IV-compliant Pulsar 180 and the Pulsar 135LS. Priced at Rs 79,545 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Pulsar 180 is Rs 3,430 pricier than its predecessor. The 2017 Pulsar 135LS on the other hand retails at 60,178 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs 2,046 more than the model it replaces.
Cosmetic changes common to the Pulsar 135LS and the Pulsar 180 include a matte grey finish for the engine and two new paint schemes – red/black and blue/white. The Pulsar 135LS also gains a new single-piece seat and a single-piece grab rail. The Pulsar 180 meanwhile, is now offered with a rear disc brake and a blue backlit digital display.
At the heart of the Pulsar 135LS is a 134cc single-cylinder DTS-i mill delivering 13bhp and 11Nm of torque. The Pulsar 180 on the other hand gets a 178cc single-cylinder DTS-i mill delivering 17bhp and 14Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to five-speed transmissions, and have been updated to meet the BS IV emission norms.
The Bajaj Pulsar 135LS rivals 125cc motorcycles like the Hero Ignitor and the Honda CB Shine SP. The Pulsar 180 on the other hand, shares the market space with the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 180, Honda CB Unicorn 160 and the Suzuki Gixxer.
