- BS6 Hero Glamour is available in two variants – Drum and Disc
- The BS6 compliant motorcycle uses a five-speed gearbox
- Prices start from Rs 68,900
Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of the BS6 Glamour in the Indian market. The base variant (drum brake) of the BS6 Glamour is priced at Rs 68,900 while the premium version (disc brake - 240mm front) is available for Rs 72,400.
The styling cues on the BS6 Hero Glamour aren’t very different from the old (BS4) motorcycle, although there are a few noticeable changes. The front fascia, for example, now features a smoked-finish to the pilot lamps. The side and the rear panels, too, are noticeably different from the BS4 motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp will offer the BS6 Glamour in four colour options – Radiant Red, Techno Blue, Tornado Grey and Sports Red.
The BS6 Glamour uses a new chassis and packs updated hardware such as wider tyres, more travel for suspension (+14 per cent at the front and +10 per cent at the rear) and increased ground clearance (+30 per cent). The revised instrument cluster on the BS6 Glamour features a real-time fuel economy indicator.
In terms of performance, the BS6-compliant 125cc motor makes 10.73bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. In comparison, the BS4 model made 11.5bhp at 7,500rpm and 11Nm at 6,000rpm. Moreover, the latest iteration of the motorcycle uses a five-speed gearbox instead of a four-speed transmission on the BS4 vehicle. To ensure better fuel economy, Hero MotoCorp has added the Idle Stop-Start System (i3S) to the BS6 Glamour. The BS6 Hero Glamour is also equipped with an Auto Sail Technology.
Apart from introducing the BS6 iteration of the motorcycle, Hero MotoCorp has also confirmed that more versions of the new Glamour will come throughout the year.
