Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India continues to update its product portfolio with BS6 compliance and the latest one to join the bandwagon is the Dio. The BS6 Honda Dio is available at Rs 59,990 for the base model and Rs 63,340 for the premium version. The contemporary design is aimed to appeal to the young buyers. However, what else can you buy in a similar budget? We list the options down below.
If the styling of the BS6 Honda Dio is too flashy for your choice, the Honda Activa 6G will be an ideal alternative. The BS6 Honda Activa 6G gets features such as LED headlight (not available on base version), silent start technology, 12-inch front wheel, engine Start/Stop switch, telescopic front forks and external fuel filler cap, which further improve the overall package. The Honda Activa 6G is priced at Rs 63,912 for the base version and Rs 65,412 for the premium variant. The BS6-compliant Activa uses a 109.51cc, fan-cooled, fuel-injected engine that makes 7.65bhp at 8,000rpm and 9Nm at 4,750rpm.
TVS Motor Company recently revealed the prices for the lower variants of the BS6 Jupiter range, and the 110cc scooter is available in the range of Rs 61,449 to Rs 67,911. The TVS Jupiter is available with an optional front disc brake – a feature that is still not available on the Honda Activa (110). In terms of performance, the BS6 Jupiter uses a 109.7cc, single-cylinder, fuel injected motor that delivers a maximum power output of 7.4bhp at 7,000rpm.
The Hero Pleasure+ 110 FI aims to attract women buyers, and it thus features a lean and stylish design, which is further enhanced by a chromed 3D Logo, chrome surround for the headlight and side accents. The base variant of the BS-VI compliant Hero Pleasure+ 110 FI is available at Rs 54,800 while the premium version retails for Rs 56,800. The 110cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, engine uses ‘XSens Technology’ and produces 8bhp at 7,000rpm and 8.7Nm at 5,500rpm.
For about Rs 5,000 more than the ex-showroom tag of the BS6 Honda Dio, buyers can opt for the Hero MotoCorp’s BS6 compliant Splendor iSmart (Rs 64,900). To ensure a promising fuel economy, Hero MotoCorp has retained its i3S (idle stop-start) technology to the 110cc motorcycle. Mechanical specifications on the BS6 Splendor iSmart include a 110cc, single-cylinder motor that delivers 9bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.89Nm at 5,500rpm.
The BS6 TVS Star City Plus is another motorcycle that is available at a competitive price tag of Rs 62,034 (mono-tone) and Rs 62,534 (dual-tone). The motorcycle boasts of a LED headlight, which enhances its stylish looks and premium-ness. The BS6 Star City+ also promises 15% better fuel economy, refinement and durability than its predecessor. The 109.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine makes 8.08bhp at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4,500rpm.
