- New fuel-injected engine makes the same power but slightly lesser torque

- Comes in a new matte red paint scheme

Suzuki has launched the new BS6 version of its 125cc maxi-scooter, the Burgman Street 125, in India. The company has priced the scooter at Rs 77,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is premium of Rs 7,000 over its BS4 counterpart.

The 125cc, single-cylinder engine of the Burgman Street now features fuel-injection which is claimed to provide smoother power delivery and better fuel efficiency as compared to the previous carbureted model. The revised engine produces 8.6bhp and 10Nm which means the power remains unchanged but the torque figure has gone done by 0.2Nm. Another update has come in the form of a new integrated engine start and kill switch with Suzuki Easy Start System.

Suzuki has retained by overall styling of the Burgman Street comprising of a large apron sporting a windscreen, LED headlamp and turn indicators along with long and swooping rear panel housing an LED tail lamp. What’s new is a matte red colour option which will be sold alongside the existing paint schemes including matte grey, white and matte black.

The maxi-scooter also remains unchanged in terms of cycle parts. Riding on a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel, it is suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by disc brake up front and drum brake at the rear supported by combined braking system.

Suzuki had showcased the swanky MotoGP version of the BS6 Burgman Street 125 at the Auto Expo 2020. Although we were expecting it to be introduced with the standard model, we might have to wait for it a little longer. Notably, the MotoGP edition will demand a marginal premium over the standard colour options.
