Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced the launch of the BS6 compliant Gixxer and Gixxer SF. Apart from the standard models, the company has also updated the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition to comply with the latest emission norms, and the BS6 variant of the fully-faired motorcycle is available at Rs 1,22,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). In comparison, the BS4 iteration of the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition was sold at Rs 110,605 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The upgrades are limited to mechanical changes to comply with the BS6 emission norms. The styling cues, on the other hand, are similar to the BS4 motorcycle. Thus, the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP edition comes equipped with a Metallic Triton Blue paint with a special livery, LED headlight, LED taillight, sporty dual-muffler, six-spoke alloy wheels, split-style seats and a digital instrument cluster.
Mechanical specifications comprise of a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine with SEP technology that produces 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm. The power and torque output numbers have gone down by 1.2bhp and 0.2Nm respectively. The motor continues to use a five-speed gearbox. Hardware on the BS6 motorcycle continues to comprise of telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, disc brakes at both ends and a single-channel ABS.
Apart from the MotoGP edition, the Gixxer SF is available in Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black and Glass Sparkle Black paint schemes. The company had showcased the MotoGP edition of the Gixxer roadster at the Auto Expo 2020, although the launch details for that bike are yet to be announced.
