- BSA electric bike under development
- R&D facility being built
- Launch in 2021
Mahindra is planning to make electric bikes under BSA brand for the world market. This development was confirmed by Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra.
According to the report, the company is in the process of building its research facility in Banbury UK. It has also received a good chunk of money from the UK government to develop electric bikes. This upcoming green vehicle is likely to hit the market sometime next year. But before that, BSA will see a new petrol-powered motorcycle making its debut.
There’s still no concrete information on the bikes that will make its debut next year. But we can expect Mahindra to make full use of its 300cc Mojo platform that we see in the Jawa. There’s also a chance of higher displacement motorcycles, probably 500cc-600cc for the BSA brand, making its debut next year.
We can expect the lower displacement BSAs to be launched in India. In fact, we expect them to be made in India. However, the big BSAs could be made in the UK for the European market.
