The iconic British manufacturer BSA is in India with the new Gold Star 650. Priced from Rs 2.99 lakh, ex-showroom, onwards, the Gold Star 650 undercuts its rivals but not by much. Here are a few interesting details about the bike through images.
The design of the BSA Gold Star 650 is on point. It marries retro and modern quite harmoniously. This is apparent from the styling of the 12-litre fuel tank with the big, BSA logo on it. The round headlight and curved fenders are quite period correct as well.
Powering the bike is a 652cc, 4-valve, DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine develops 45bhp at 6,500rpm and 55Nm at 4,000rpm. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The bike has a double cradle frame. It is suspended by a 41mm telescopic fork and five-step, preload adjustable twin shock absorbers. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear, wire spoke wheels.
Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm disc at the front and a 255mm disc at the rear. Dual channel ABS is standard.
The Gold Star 650 will be available in the following colours- Insignia Red and Highland Green (Rs 2.99 lakh), Midnight Black and Dawn Silver (Rs 3.12 lakh) and Shadow Black that's priced at Rs 3.15 lakh.
