- Maximum power output receives a marginal drop due to BS-VI compliance
- Expected to be launched just before the BS-VI implementation date of 1 April 2020
- Could receive new colour option when launched
After the specifics of the BS-VI compliant Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 and FZ models were leaked, similar details have now emerged on the internet with regards to Suzuki’s recently launched model, the Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer 250. The leaked information provides a confirmation that Suzuki too is gearing up to make its products compliant with the BS-VI norms.
According to the document, the BS-VI version of the 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled motor that powers the motorcycles will receive a marginal drop in maximum power figure. While the current BS-IV motor registers 26.1bhp (19.8KW) at 9,000rpm, its BS-VI counterpart will produce 25.7bhp (19.5KW) at the same engine speed. Apart from that, since both motorcycles have been recently launched, expect no changes in terms of cosmetics and cycle parts. However, it wouldn’t be wrong to expect a new colour addition, possibly a vibrant hue, to the existing options.
Expect Suzuki to launch the BS-VI compliant Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 models some time close to the 1 April 2020 deadline applicable for all new vehicles sold in India.
