- New Yamaha FZ-S available in two new colours
- Gets a retuned BS-VI compliant engine
- No additional colour options on standard FZ Yamaha recently launched its first BS-VI compliant motorcycle, the FZ-S in India at Rs 1.01 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The manufacturer is offering the FZ-S in two new colour schemes- Metallic Red and a Darknight version. The single-tone Red colour is priced similar to the three other colours also featured on the BS-IV compliant model- ‘Gray and Cyan Blue’, ‘Dark Matt Blue’ and ‘Matt Black’.
However, the Darknight version costs a premium of Rs 1,500 over the rest of the paint options. The Darknight colour which was also available in the previous variant has been updated and sports white graphics on the tank and radiator shrouds.
The motorcycle sports the same 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine although with a larger catalytic converter and different components to comply with the emission norms. The motor produces 12.2bhp of power and 13.6Nm of torque. As compared to the earlier model, the BS-VI FZ-S has a slightdrop in power but torque is available 500rpms earlier in the rev band.
On the other hand, the standard FZ has no additions to its colour palatte and continues to be offered in ‘Racing Blue’ and ‘Metric Black’. The motorcycles are available for booking in Yamaha dealerships across India and deliveries are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
