BSVI-compliant Royal Enfield Classic 350 spied

In the wake of the leaked images of the 2020 Royal Enfield Classic’s new instrument console and switchgear, yet another spy image has now emerged. This time, it is the BSVI-compliant fuel-injected motor.

The things that are noticeable in the spy image are the catalytic converter right behind the powertrain and the oxygen sensors on the top side of the downpipe. These components suggest that the upcoming Classic model series will be fuel injected. Besides that, the design of the gearbox casing is similar to the one on the 650 Twin hinting that Royal Enfield might offer a six-speed gearbox. A closer observation of the engine and comparison with the current generation motor shows that this BS-VI mill features a different cylinder head design which is also slightly larger in dimensions. This suggests that the 346cc engine could receive a bump in displacement. The increased displacement and addition of a six-speed gearbox should contribute towards making the next-generation Classic 350 more torquey and touring friendly.

Royal Enfield is likely to introduce the 2020 Classic 350 a few days prior to the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. In term of pricing, expect a price bump of around Rs 10,000-12,000 over the existing price tag.
