2016 is here and so is the world’s best motorcycle training academy – California Superbike School. Just like each year, the training will be held at the Madras Motor Race Track.
This time there are two batches – the first one, from February 5 till 7 and the second one from 12 to 14, in the same month. The three training days are divided over three levels. The usual training day starts with a classroom session, where the trainers teach various motorcycling techniques to students. Once the classroom session is done, students need to hop on to their motorcycles and practice the same on the racetrack.
The techniques and the lessons that one gets to incorporate from this school, comes from years of experience of these trainers and also from Keith Code, who has penned down a very famous book called ‘Twist of the Wrist’. This time around, the trainers will be coming down from CSS UK.
The most interesting aspect of this school is that you can use any motorcycle to train. You don’t need an inline-four or a twin. Something like a Yamaha YZF-R15 will do too, in fact, the smaller the bike, the more you get to learn.
The fee for the three-day school is Rs 66,000. This includes the service tax (14.5 per cent), insurance cover, food and fuel. Do note that a good riding gear is mandatory and there is no option to rent out riding gear at the school. We understand the fee is on the higher side, but we strongly recommend this school to anyone who wants to improve their overall riding. This school isn’t about racing or going fast, it’s about getting the technique right and becoming a very good rider.
