The KTM Duke 390 ABS is the most affordable performance motorcycle one can buy in India. Its light weight and very good power figures has made it the best choice for motorcycle enthusiasts in India but looks like the Austrian manufacturer wants to improve this offering.
Two camouflaged KTM Duke 390 test mules have been spied testing somewhere in Europe. Both the test mules slightly differ from each other. One of the test mule sports a large side-mounted exhaust instead of the traditional under belly exhaust unit found on the current models. The same test mule has a different tail section. Instead of the regular grab rail, we can see a semi-circle shaped steel pipe and probably will be something the pillion can hold on to. The fuel tank is also redesigned and its side panels have a different shape. The coolant box is now easily visible. In addition to these changes, the Duke 390 gets new number plate holders and the position of the turn indicators have changed. Except the new exhaust and the semi-circle grab rail, the other test mule has the same changes.
While there are reports about one of the test mules being a Duke 125/200, we believe that both are the Duke 390 because that’s the only bike that is sold with Orange wheels globally. KTM officials suggest that these are real world durability tests, but we sincerely hope that there is a little bit of the upcoming 390 adventure in there.
