Carberry Motorcycle has launched its new hand built motorcycle at Rs 7.35 lakhs. Called Double Barrel 1000, this motorcycle is powered by a 1000cc V-twin engine created by combining two 500cc Royal Enfield engines.
The first batch of 29 motorcycles has been built, and the company has started accepting bookings for these for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The Double Barrel 1000 is based on a double cradle frame, also based on Royal Enfield’s chassis. At the heart of the Double Barrel 1000 is an air-cooled, overhead valve engine, delivering 56.32bhp and 108Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. Carberry claims that the engine is BS-IV compliant and has been homologated to be sold in India. The Double Barrel 1000 rides on 35mm front forks and preload-adjustable dual spring setup in the rear. It even gets disc brakes on both ends, with a dual-channel ABS.
Carberry Motorcycle was initially based out of Australia, though they moved to Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, when they found new investors. Given that India has been home to the Royal Enfield brand for more than half a century, there is no shortage of parts, which has made things easier for the Carberry.
