- It is a sport-touring motorcycle.
- Powered by a 400cc, parallel-twin engine.
- Unlikely to arrive in India.
Chinese manufacturer, CFMoto recently unveiled their new sport touring motorcycle, the 400GT in China.
The 400GT's styling has been derived from the CFMoto 650MT adventure-tourer. However, the 400GT gets a tall, adjustable windscreen, and wider fairing that houses a twin LED headlamp setup with an LED strip in between. The bike also gets fairing mounted rear view mirrors and full-colour instrument console. CFMoto will also be offering the 400GT with hardcase side panniers as an optional accessory.
Powering the sport-tourer is a 400cc, parallel-twin engine from the 400NK streetfighter. This engine produces 42.2bhp and 34.4Nm of torque via a six-speed gearbox. Since it is a retuned, short-stroke version of the 649cc engine used in the 650NK, a 650GT is likely to arrive soon. Suspension duties at the front are taken care of by conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike is equipped with ABS as standard and gets dual discs for the front and a single disc at the rear end. With a fuel tank capacity of 17-litres, the CFMoto 400GT tips the scales at 210kg.
CFMoto entered a joint venture with KTM last year and holds 51 per cent of the share in the venture called CFMoto-KTMR2R. The 400GT has also been designed by KISKA, the Austrian design house behind the recent KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles. SWhile the CFMoto 400GT will be on sale in international markets in a couple of months, it is unlikely to arrive on Indian shores anytime soon.
