Cleveland CycleWerks will be making its Indian debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. An American motorcycle brand, the company will be showcasing two retro motorcycles, the Ace and the Misfit, at the event.
While Cleveland CycleWerks has a slew of motorcycles in its range, the Indian portfolio will initially consist of just the Ace and the Misfit. These retro motorcycles will go up against the Royal Enfield range. While the Ace is a street bike, the Misfit is a café racer. The Ace will again have a customised variant designed along the lines of a scrambler. While the Ace gets a 229cc engine, the one in the Misfit is a smaller 223cc unit. Nevertheless, the Misfit sports higher power output to complement its café racer character.
So far, Cleveland CycleWerks has a presence in 23 countries. For its venture in India, Cleveland CycleWerks has joined hands with a local firm called Laish-Madison Motorwerks Pvt. Ltd. The Indian operations will be conducted out of Mumbai, while the local assembly of motorcycles will take place at its plant in Pune.
