Confederate Motors, known for its exotic and radical looking, V-twin motorcycles like the Hellcat, is going electric with the launch of a new motorcycle.
The company has partnered with Zero motorcycles, which has resulted in the ‘Hercules’. The motorcycle uses two electric Zero motors, which is expected to produce 175bhp and a massive 393Nm of peak torque. The Hercules’s design is unknown, but we can expect it to be similar to what Confederate is known for- radical looking motorcycles.
The Hercules along with other new electric motorcycles will be sold under Confederate’s new name- Curtiss Motorcycles. The company has decided to change its name because they feel it is hampering business. The word ‘Confederate’ has historical connection to the Civil War and with America’s current civil unrest.
The company recently unveiled the FA-13 Combat Bomber at the Pebble Beach Quail. The V-twin engine bike produces 150bhp and 223Nm of torque and is priced at $155,000 (Rs 99.14 lakh) for the US market. The company has nine complete motorcycles left in stock, and will make 13 more of the Bomber before moving to the new electric machines.
